"Scalple."
"Scissors."
"I need more forceps over here."
Amber tensed as the machines indicated an increase in the patients heart rate. Just a little further, just a little more.
"Done. Let's get this guy patched up."
A general, but quiet sigh of relief flooded the room. The door to the room opened up to let enter a scrawny woman in hot red high heels and a white medical coat. "Dr. Raine? You're needed at the front desk."
Amber wanted to reply, Can't you see I've just gotten out of surgery?! but instead calmly asked, "What for? Who needs me?"
"Some girl, Dr. Raine. She.. she says she's your sister, but I quite honestly doubt that," the woman laughed, "she looks nothing like you –" she dropped the sentence at the look on Amber's face. "I–I'll tell her you'll be down in a minute."
"Thank you Sandra." After receiving help with getting her surgical apron off, Amber turned through a door to wash up. Could she really be back already? Maybe it was one of her other sisters. No. She said that she looked nothing like herself, in other words not Asian. It had to be Tsunami.

Ximina entered the hospital and strode in, looking around. She'd never been to a hospital before. But she was worried about her liver, as strange as it sounded. Her skin had taken on a yellowish tint and that's what it did when there was something wrong with your liver, right? She'd been trying to hide it with some of her make up but Ximina knew she would have to take care of it soon. Usually angels went to their own doctor because a lot of the time there were differences between angels and humans but she hadn't wanted her mom to worry and news spread fast around angels.

It was an accident. It had to be an accident. After all, fate didn't have anything to do with it. He was certain. Douglas was certain that it was all an accident. He sighed as the ambulance raced on at top speeds, hurrying her to the hospital as her lack of blood caused her to become disoriented. "Wha happe..." She failed to complete a sentence, or even to get out heavier letters of the words 'What happened to me?'. And by she, we mean Harrald Star. Harrald's soft blue eyes watered but were fuzzy and distant. She fell in and out of consciousness too many times. Sighing, Douglas wished it had been him. At least he could have walked it off. Harrald couldn't. They finally reached the hospital and Harrald was rushed off to go get mended while Douglas waited, worried sick and sad.
Harrald was holding Douglas' hand, smiling as they chatted and walked along the busy sidewalks of downtown Salt Lake. They were having a rather grand time, too, and it would've stayed that way had the accident not happened. A kid with an armful of stolen goods and a gun ran out of a store, tripping on something and bowling over into Harrald. Really, of all the accidents to happen right then it had to be Harrald. She had only just released Douglas' hand so he could check the time on his phone when it happened. Wrong place, wrong time. She had been sent tumbling into the street right as a car came. It had swerved and run over her right arm, the front of the car hitting her head and sending her into a black unconscious. And then the next car also ended up running over her arm, but this time screeching to a halt atop it before realizing and pulling forward. She lay, nothing left of her arm and a pool of blood spilling quickly out of a concussion on her head and the broken arm as well. Douglas called an ambulance and then helped her out of the road.
Tapping his foot, Douglas waited nervously for the news, good or bad.

Amber finished cleaning up and made her way to the main level. She used the short time in the elevator to gather her thoughts and compose herself before stepping out in a brisk walk. The woman at the main desk said that "Tsu" was in the waiting room. Cautiously, Amber peek into the waiting room, her pulse rising. It wouldn't be a bad thing if Tsunami was here, but wasn't she supposed to be off doing some military stuff? It had been years since Amber had seen her adopted human sister.
A blur of brown hair was visible behind a magazine, completely engrossed in its trivial contents. The seats around her were empty except one, which was occupied by an unsettled young man. The former was calm, as she always was. Eager and tentative, Amber made her way towards Tsunami. Tsunami sensed her coming and looked up, bright blue eyes smiling. They stood about foot away of each other now in a slightly awkward manner, till joy and euphoria overwhelmed them enough to embrace in a tight, long needed hug.

Douglas smiled as he saw a doctor emerge from somewhere back in the hospital. But she avoided him and walked up to another girl, and they embraced as if reuniting two halves of a whole or as if they hadn't seen each other in ages. He decided it was the latter. Standing up, he wondered if maybe this doctor would know how Harrald was doing, and if she was okay. "Excuse me, miss. I hate to be a burden but my friend is severely hurt and I was wondering if you have news on her? Name is Harrald Star." He looked at the doctor with pleading eyes, hoping she could bring any comfort to his guilty being.

Dr. Raine, startled, looked over at the young man who had just previously been sitting down. "Um no, I have no information to give you. Sorry." She glanced back at Tsunami mechanically, who was looking at the man with this somewhat skeptical look. "What's your name?" Amber asked, taking out a pen. "And the name of your friend, I can go look for you." She didn't really care about helping this man, what she really wanted to do was talk to her sister to find out what the heck was going on, but that could not be done now as their conversation would be overheard. And besides that, the man looked of angel build - which she should know, being a doctor and all.

Douglas nodded, somewhat frantic. "Douglas Santo, my friend is Harrald Star. She was hit by a car, if that helps..." He frowned, making sure to accent the she so that the doctor understood that Harrald was in fact a lady. That mistake had happened before and he didn't want it to happen again. Then he went and sat down, having decided to leave Dr. Raine, as her name tag said, to whatever important business she was currently attending to. He waited, tapping his foot and sitting leaned over with hands clasped as he waited on edge for the news.

Ximina nervously walked up to the front desk, she'd never been in a hospital before and since she ussually knew what she was doing this made her worried. "Um..... Excuse me?" she said in a small voice, "I'm so sorry to bother you but I've never really been in a hospital before and I don't really know where to go and this desk was kinda smack dab in the middle of everything so I went here 'cause it seemed the reasonable thing to do at the time and I'm very sorry if it wasn't so if you could help me that would be very nice." Ximina bit her lip and clasped and unclasped her hands together.
(((((((OOC: if one of you guys could help me and Ximina out that would be very nice, you see the only times I've ever been in a hospital would be to visit people and all i did was follow my mom.............. sry))))))))))))

[[Permission to OOC a non-existent charrie???]]
Miss Bennett smiled her most courteous of smiles and looked up at the lady who had approached her. She began to wonder why a stake at a Medical Center would be of any use. Besides, a girl of only twenty-one was hardly a cover to work in a practice that normally took years to accomplish. But no matter, she'd figure it out one way or another. Maybe she was just a sub for the real secretary? Well, she'd need to think of an excuse later. She looked up at the approaching lady. "Yes, this is the Front Desk. Just fill out this paperwork and return it to me." Handing a stack of papers to the lady, 'Amanda' continued her research on the computer.

Dr. Raine turned back to her sister, breathing a heavy sigh. After a moment's pause she concluded, "We'll have to talk later, my shift ends at 6:00 pm." Reaching into her pocket she took out some keys, which she placed in her sister's hand. "The Front Desk at Highrise Apartments will help direct you to my house. I trust you can find your way there?" Tsunami nodded and backed away her way out to the front entrance and left, knowing what was coming when her sister finally did have a chance to question her. She didn't want to have to say anything, but it was inevitable.
Amber pulled out the card on which she had written "Harrald Star" and then under it "Douglas Santo" and made her way to the ER level. On passing the front desk, she couldn't help but notice a most bizarre color of hair she had ever seen on a girl; green. It reminded her that she still had clinic duty, and she wouldn't be surprised if that very green haired girl would be her patient during it.

(((((ooc; yes, sanku))))) Ximina blinked. It was so easy and she was being all hysterical and ridiculous. She mentally kicked herself, hard. She gave the woman behind the desk one of her award-winning smiles (literally, she had won the Moab Beauty Pagent when she was 13) and took the forms and a pen out of the jar on the desk. She went over and sat down with a seat between her and a nervous looking man who was tapping his foot against the ground. As she filled out the forms, using several magazines as a hard surface, she kept glancing at the poor guy. Being a social person she wanted to talk to some one but this guy looked like if he opened his mouth he might explode with anxiety. Ximina glanced to her right, in the other direction, and saw that her only other company was a very fat, old lady in a wheel chair and had one of those air thingings in her nose. The woman's eyes were half closed and she made a disgusting wheeze-gurgle-pop sound with every breath she took. Ximina shuddered. Turning back to the guy on her left she shrugged her shoulders, deciding to strike up a conversation with a what-the-hey kinda attitude.
"So," she said to him, "whatchya so nervous about?"

"My, err, girlfriend... She got hit by a car. Two, technically. And she's in surgery now... I don't know what's wrong." Douglas said, wondering what kind of luck his brother was having. Had to be better than what Douglas was doing. What would Tyson say about me getting his ex hit by a car? Douglas thought sadly, turning back to wait as he stared at the door and tapped his foot. Somebody had to come out eventually, and eventually somebody would have to come out that knew something. Right?

"Oh, my...." Ximina said. She had not realised it would be so serious. She thought it would be more in the direction of a girlfriend being pregnant, not hit by a car. "Jeeze......... I'm sorry....... but I'm sure she'll be fine, people get hit by cars all the time." She said trying to be encouraging but as the words came out of her mouth they sounded the opposite of encouraging. She went back to filling out her form but she continued to glance at the man. Ximina hated it when people where upset adn she always wished she could do something to make them feel better, partially because their mood always seemed to rub off on her.
Ximina returned the forms to the front desk a short while later. Some of the questions were pretty embarrassing, considering that she was only fifteen, but she had answered them all. "Now what?" she asked the lady behind the desk.
((((((ooc; some of the question are pretty ummm..... akward. i had to fill out a form when i got a CAT scan and it asked me wether or not i was pregnant!)))))))))

[[xD Nice. And were you? No, JK! JK! Sorry it's so short... Watching 'Fifth Element']]
Douglas sighed and continued to rasp his foot upon the floor, nervous. He'd been through too much in the past few days, hardly wanting to continue on in his 'quest for happiness'. He sighed and waited eagerly.
